SmartShare StraightShaper Deployment
Standard Deployment Configuration:
The standard deployment configuration consists of a single SmartShare StraightShaper which is inserted into the network between the firewall and the LAN users.
Deployment within ISP backbone:
SmartShare StraightShaper 8000 Series with its gigabit capacity is well suited to sit in larger organizations or even an ISP core.
Deployment with DMZ:
SmartShare StraightShaper 1000 and 5000 series supports demilitarized zone (DMZ) configurations which is often used to seperate web servers, FTP servers or mail filters from the LAN. The DMZ network traffic is passed through the SmartShare StraightShaper via the two extension ports (ext1 and ext2).
Multi-site Corporate Configuration:
SmartShare StraightShaper can with great benefits be use by enterprises with multiple office locations. Simply replicate the installation procedure at each location as described in the Standard deployment model.
